This cute little copper plated kettle has been in my family for many years but we are downsizing and my collection needs to follow suit. It features a nicely proportioned solid brass wire and turned hardwood handle that attach to two upside down heart shaped solid brass flanges that keep the handle upright and away from the heat. Measures 7" from base to top of handle. The 7"dia. base is still intact and holds water but is blackened from exposure to heat. The lid is 3 1/4" in dia. and sports a 1" high turned hardwood knob and a small vent hole. The perky little spout is nicely tapered and is about 3" long. I recall that the spout had been reattached [soldered] at some point, probably after "somone" let it boil dry on the stove. Small dent on the side opposite the spout that I think adds to its charm. Sorry, I dont know how old it is. A great primitive decorating piece for home or camp kitchen or just to sit on the mantle or hold a small bouquet of silk flowers. It's a fun piece. Terms: Cash and pick up at my College St. residence. 627-8452 |
